North & South elevations after week three



Preparing for the ground floor




15 Tons of scalpings arrive and Sol starts cutting the dumper bags for the scalpings to come straight out onto the ground.
A Radon sump has to be constructed within the ground floor, the purpose is to ventilate any gases within the house and direct it out of the building into the open.
Sol is compacting the scalpings with a ' Compacter plate' or its other name called a 'Wacker'

Block works starts for plinth wall



Building merchants 'Civil Solutions' start the delivery of concrete blocks

Foundations `set in concrete`



Foundations set, you can just srtasee the overall shape of the house. The square foundation within the house is the location for the chimney.

Foundations created



Local building officer gives the thumbs up in the morning along with Tim, Structural Engineer and in the afternoon the conrete lorry arrives with an amazing automated conveyor belt to effectively place the concrete into the footings.

Footings dug out




The house position is then mapped out onto the land with spray paint. Digger driver Ron and Ivor carefully dig out the Kidney shape footings.
